Privacy Policy for Voltare Apps and projects.voltare.us
This policy explains how Voltare ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Kaleb Simpson, handles information across our applications and this website. It covers Equipment Service Tool, Budget to 0, Mac.apk, Coalescence, and the projects.voltare.us website. Questions? Email [email protected].
Our data practices differ by app. Most of our apps — Equipment Service Tool, Budget to 0, and Mac.apk — keep everything on your device and collect nothing. Coalescence is a dating app, so it necessarily collects and displays the profile information needed to provide matching; however, it runs entirely on Apple's infrastructure rather than on servers we operate. The sections below explain each.
1. Our Local-First Apps (Equipment Service Tool, Budget to 0, Mac.apk)
For these apps, Voltare does not collect any personal data. We do not run our own analytics, our own crash reporting, or our own ad network. Anything you enter (service records, budget entries, save data, saved configurations) stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. These apps do not use location services.
2. Coalescence (Dating App)
Coalescence is a dating app for adults 18 and older. Because it is a dating service, it collects and displays the profile information described below. It runs entirely on Apple's infrastructure: your data lives in Apple CloudKit, sign-in is Sign in with Apple, payments are handled by Apple, and photo screening happens on your device. We operate no servers of our own.
Information you provide
- First name only — we never collect a last name.
- Date of birth, used to confirm you are 18+ and to display your age.
- Up to three photos.
- Gender identity and who you're interested in.
- Age-range and distance preferences.
- One social handle (Instagram, TikTok, or X).
- An optional bio and one prompt answer.
- Political views, relationship style, and religion, shown on your profile to support values-based matching. Providing these is required to create a profile, and several include a "Prefer not to say" option.
- Messages you send (text only).
Information collected automatically
- A Sign in with Apple identifier, stored as a one-way hash. We never see your Apple password.
- Approximate, city-level location (see below).
- A last-active timestamp, to power inactivity features and remove dormant profiles.
- Standard advertising identifiers via Google AdMob on the free and Plus tiers (see Advertising).
How location works
We use Apple's Core Location to determine your city and a coarse, rounded location (accurate to roughly a kilometer). We do not store or share your exact GPS coordinates, and distance to other users is shown only in approximate ranges. There is no manual location entry, which also helps prevent spoofing.
Your messages are end-to-end encrypted
Messages are end-to-end encrypted on your device using Apple's CryptoKit. Only you and your match hold the keys — we cannot read your messages, and neither can Apple.
Photo screening is on-device
Before any photo is uploaded, it is screened on your iPhone using Apple's Sensitive Content Analysis and Vision frameworks. Your photos are not sent to any moderation service for analysis.
Where your data is stored
In Apple CloudKit. Profile data needed for discovery lives in CloudKit's public database; your message keys and private data sync through your own iCloud private database. Apple provides the infrastructure and handles compliance obligations (including GDPR/CCPA mechanisms) for the data it hosts.
Sensitive data
Some fields — such as religion, political views, and information that may imply sexual orientation — are considered sensitive. We collect them solely to provide the core matching feature and to display them on your profile. You control what you share, and you can choose "Prefer not to say" where offered.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Your profile is visible to other users of the app as part of the dating service. Our only processors are Apple (infrastructure, authentication, payments) and Google AdMob (ads on the free and Plus tiers).
Account deletion, bans, and inactivity
- Deletion: You can delete your account anytime in Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent; your records and photos are removed.
- After a ban: If an account is banned for safety violations, we retain only a one-way hash of the Apple identifier and minimal report details (reason and date) to prevent the banned person from returning. No profile content or photos are kept.
- Inactivity: Free accounts inactive for 30 days are deleted. Paid accounts inactive for 30 days have premium benefits downgraded and the account removed; we send daily reminders on days 25–30 with a one-tap link to manage or cancel your subscription. (We cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf — manage subscriptions in your Apple account.)
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Equipment Service Tool is free and ad-supported, and Coalescence shows ads on its free and Plus tiers. These apps may display advertising via Google AdMob. When ads are shown, AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifiers (for ad serving)
- General location (country/region only)
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
- Device type and operating system info
This information is collected and processed by Google AdMob according to their privacy policy. Learn more at Google's Privacy & Terms and how Google uses information for ads.
On first launch, apps that show ads present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are non-personalized. You can also opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. In Equipment Service Tool you can remove ads entirely with an in-app purchase; in Coalescence the Max tier shows no ads. Once ads are removed, no AdMob advertising data is collected.
4. The projects.voltare.us Website
This website does not display advertising, does not run third-party analytics, and does not set tracking cookies. The only third-party content loaded by the site is Google Fonts (the Inter typeface), fetched as a static resource. Google may log standard request data (IP address, user agent) for that font request as described in their privacy policy.
5. Crash Reports and Diagnostics
App-side crash reports and diagnostic data are routed through standard Apple services if you have App Analytics enabled in iOS Settings. We do not receive personally identifying information; Apple may share aggregated, anonymized diagnostic data with us per their developer agreements.
6. Children's Privacy
Coalescence is strictly for adults 18 and older; we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and date of birth is used to enforce this. Our other apps are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store information from children.
7. Your Rights
For our local-first apps (Equipment Service Tool, Budget to 0, Mac.apk), all data stays on your device, so there is no Voltare-held data to access, modify, or delete — it remains entirely under your control.
For Coalescence, you can view, edit, or remove your profile information at any time in the app, and permanently delete your account from Settings. To make an access or deletion request, email [email protected]. Apple, which hosts the data, also provides GDPR/CCPA mechanisms for the data it stores.
For data collected by Google AdMob, use the opt-out and deletion controls in your Google account and the App Tracking Transparency setting on your device.
8. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this policy. Any material changes will be reflected on this page along with an updated "last modified" date below.
